Northwood Memorial Day Ceremony
Never forgotten SFC Callahan and PFC Mason. Two names I was able to find easily of two soldiers I served with who died too young. I wish I had more time at the Memorial to research more friends that were lost. Looking back at my life the past 20 years in the US Army seems surreal. It was good to see how much this memorial helps the community as well as myself. There wasn't a dry eye in the audience even my teenage daughter was moved. She hugged me and told me she was so happy am I alive when she learned about the many sacrifices our US Military and their families. I hope the Irvine City Council can hurry up and get the veterans cemetery approved and start building it. Whatever site is chosen, please just get it done. Campaign Fundraiser
We had so many good photos from last night I made a collage for everyone to see them at once. I was nervous how the event would turn out but it was great. The magician stole the show with making a signed $20 bill appear inside of an orange, everyone loved it. Today with Anthony Kuo in my neighborhood of Woodbury to view the problem with unsafe drivers.
Matthew Ehorn and now Anthony Kuo have come in person. I personally appreciate this as the intersection behind us in the photo is a place my own 6 year old son wants to ride his bike... A place that I have seen way too many close calls. Just before we took this photo we were talking to a group of people when Anthony noticed a car was about to hit a child on a bike. Without hesitation Anthony ran out in front of traffic and stopped the car before it was too late. Luckily the child was fine. Neighbors told us in the past few days there have been two incidents of drivers hitting pedestrians at Woodbury intersections controlled by stop signs. At least one caused major bodily injury to the pedestrian and his child. During Anthony's visit we were able to witness IPD writing tickets and spoke to one officer to get his opinion on the current situation. I am very happy this issue is being addressed by the City of Irvine.
